It has been said that “No dreamer is ever too small, and no dream is ever too big.” Egypt is a small girl who has BIG dreams about her future. When asked what she wants to be when she grows up, she had plenty of ideas – a firefighter, a judge, a lawyer, a police officer, a soldier in the Army, or maybe even the President! “I want to help people out,” Egypt said. “I want to make the world a better place.” She is reported to be a bright, hard-working student and is proud of doing well in school. When she’s at home she spends her time playing on the computer or tablet, watching Family Feud on TV, reading chapter books, or styling her hair. Her favorite music is rap but she also listens to jazz every once in a while. Egypt is an artist and loves to color, draw, and paint pictures of nature. Someone making funny faces can always bring out her laughter. She enjoys one-on-one attention and, like any kid, can talk your ear off about things that interest her.
When Egypt is having a hard day, she likes to take a nap, go to her room, or just take some deep breaths. It’s important to her that adults do what they say they are going to do. When this doesn’t happen, she may get upset. Her trauma-informed “no matter what” family needs to provide a great deal of structure and routine which will result in a safe and predictable environment for Egypt. She would love to be in a home with other children, but it is important for her to have her own space. Egypt would like to maintain the strong connections she has with her birth family. Are you the “no matter what” family this lovely girl is looking for?
